FIVE STARS 94/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
An out and out winner with a deserved following amongst canny Kiwi wine buyers. Saddleback may be Peregrine's entry level label but most Central Otago producers would be proud to call it their flagship. A great intro for the non-pinot drinker. Obvious value.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Wonderfully fruited and fragrant, the wine shows sweet cherry, strawberry, floral, subtle mushroom and hazelnut aromas, leading to a succulent palate offering excellent weight and persistency. Beautifully framed by fleshy texture and polished tannins, finishing long and delectable."
The winery writes "An appealing Pinot Noir with rich ripe fruit from a lovely warm vintage. Aromas of red cherry and wildberry combine beautifully with enticing red and dark fruit flavours, lovely brown spice and soft supple tannins."
