92/100 'Premium' | Cameron Douglas MS
The Obliix Sauvignon Blanc 2023 is amongst a selection of the first wines released under the Fistonich Family Vineyards. Not quite ready to retire, winemaker known as 'the father of New Zealand wine', Sir George Fistonich, established the Fistonich Family Vineyards in 2021 to continue his passion for winemaking and viticulture.
They've decided to take the 'road less travelled' with this delightful sauvignon blanc. Aromas of lime leaves and white clovers are supported by a backbone of crisp acidity and herbal notes.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Aromas and flavours of fresh cape gooseberry, angelica and apple, some peach and fresh herb qualities bring together a bouquet of class and familiarity. Palate flavours mirror the bouquet with a backbone of acidity for crispness and salivation, some superfine tannins, fresh herb moments and a balanced even finish."
The winery writes "Aromas of white clover with notes of lime leaves and jasmine. This wine pairs perfectly wit posh fish and chips with a seaside view."
