STYLISH SPANISH CHARDONNAY!
The Otazu vineyard is the northernmost Pago vineyard in all of Spain. Vino de Pago is the highest classification under Spanish wine law and stands for exceptional wine that is deemed to be a very special representation of the region. There are only 20 Vino de Pago designations currently - so seeing a wine of that denomination around the $25 mark in the kiwi market is pretty cool.
This is gorgeous, medium-bodied Spanish Chardonnay showcasing bright flavours of limes and lemons, and a real change from the typical chardonnay expressions coming out of New Zealand. The modern label takes inspiration from the figure of 'Ariadna' by Manolo Valdés - which tells the story of how winemaking techniques were brought down to earth by Oenopion, the child of the God of Wine. An ideal companion for shellfish or grilled fish dishes.

The winery writes "Elegant nose, expressive and floral with citrus notes such as grapefruit and white fruits. On the palate, this is a fresh wine with a long fruity and flavored finish."
