93/100 'Excellent' | Cameron Douglas MS
Sitting between the Estate and Elspeth ranges, the Mills Reef Reserve range offers wines that punch well above their weight in terms of flavour and value. Vinted from a blend of merlot and malbec from the Gimblett Gravels sub region, this is a sublime reserve-level wine. Characteristic dark berry flavours are there in force and backed up by underlying spice. Excellent buying.

The winery writes "Immediately warm and appetising, this deliciously harmonious blend of two classical Bordeaux varieties showcases boysenberry and plum fruits, complemented with spicy leather, hints of blueberry, violets and embodied with silky smooth tannins."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Great colour and appearance with a core of dark berries and plums, barrel spices and dry stone earthy enticements. A decent weight with textures from tannins and acidity leading into flavours of dark berries, chocolate, barrels spice, some and salivating acid line. In short, delicious."
