Linden Estate are rebranding their wines and when they offered us a 'take it all' deal on this current black label release, we didn't hesitate. 2020 was a magnificent vintage in Hawke's Bay and this is very well-made, classic expression of fine Hawke's Bay Merlot. Linden Estate have garnered a glowing reputation for their red wines, and this 2020 Merlot ticks all the boxes once again.

Matured in French oak barriques for 12 months, there's plenty of black cherry and plum flavours on the palate with mouthfilling tannins. The finish is smooth, dry and very persistent. Now four years on from harvest, this sublime merlot is right in the zone and drinking beautifully - but will also reward a few more years in the cellar. A seriously good release from Linden Estate.
