Chateau Garage is the exciting small batch project of Ollie Powrie - former Head Viticulturist for Villa Maria and well known character on the Hawke's Bay wine scene. Few people have such impeccable grower contacts as Ollie so Chateau Garage was always going to be blessed with great fruit - and these first releases mark an auspicious debut from a 'micro-brand' that is well worth watching. Get in on the ground floor.

Named in honour of Ollie's brother Hugo, this 2023 is a powerful statement. Only released in tiny numbers, HUGO is a tight, compressed wine with classic cabernet fruit characters supported by firm tannins and subtle herbal nuances. This wine will reward careful cellaring. Enjoy over the coming 15 years.
