***COMPLEX, INTENSE & SPICY ITALIAN RED***
97/100 | Luca Maroni
97 points from Italy's most renowned wine critic, Luca Maroni, doesn't come everyday, and certainly not at $21.99.
Hailing from the 'heel of Italy', this susumaniello is dark, fruity and deliciously spicy. The ancient and little-known varietal, susumaniello, is known for producing wines with ripe red fruit flavours and spicy, peppery aromas. Ripened in the intense Puglian sunshine of Southern Italy, this wine is complex and rewarding. It's no wonder it's consistently received top ratings from this notoriously hard-marker year after year since 2016. We highly recommend giving this varietal a go - pair with a rich beef ragu or strong cheeses for a delicious match.

The winery writes "Dark red color with purple hints. Intense red fruity aromas characterize the bouquet. On the palate, it is strongflavored, with a very good persistence. Perfectly combined with pasta with meat sauce, grilled meat and aged cheeses."
