92/100 'Premium' | Cameron Douglas MS
92/100 | Stephen Wong MW, The Real Review
The Dicey operation is the brainchild of brothers James and Matt Dicey who have both played integral roles in the Central Otago wine scene over the years. They certainly know their stuff and have put that to work to create the Dicey range of wines.
Their 2022 Bannockburn Pinot Gris is dry and loaded with ripe stonefruit notes. It's in great form now but will develop with a few years in the cellar.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "A bouquet of ripeness, fleshy fruit scents and minerality. Aromas of white peach and pear, fresh red apple and sweet quince and a whisper of lees autolysis enhancing a mineral suggestion of stone. Delicious, warm, textured and generous on the palate with flavours that reflect the bouquet, just dry with some very fine fruit and lees textures, core fruit flavours and a balanced finish. Be sure to serve this wine cool at around 8 Celsius, on its own is fine or with creamy pasta. Best drinking from 2024 through end of summer 2027."
Stephen Wong MW writes "Lifted, precise aromas of honeydew, white peach and apple blossom lead to a delicately perfumed palate which balloons outwards with a spaciousness and airy quality. Some fine-grained spicy phenolics provide shape to the dry palate as the sweet apple and stone-fruit juicy flavours soak into the edges of the palate and linger across the nicely al dente finish. Refreshing but also soft, this cool-climate style is fragrant and beautifully light."
