90/100 | Wine Enthusiast
Established in 1976, Duckhorn Estate have spent the last 48 years creating a name for themselves as one of the premium producers in North America. While they have always had a reputation for producing sensational reds, their portfolio has grown over the years to include sauvignon blanc and chardonnay.
Decoy is the little brother brand to Duckhorn Estate, and this 2022 release is fresh and vibrant. Partial malolactic fermentation and aging in French oak barrels has imparted a lovely, creamy vanillin texture to this wine along that is nicely balanced with citrus flavours and dry minerality. A delightful drop.

The winery writes "With luxurious aromas of ripe mango, pineapple, Mandarin oragne and sweet citrus zest, this vibrant chardonnay beckons a first sip. On the smooth, supple palate, refreshing acidity adds poise and polish to the tropical fruit flavours, with hints of vanilla and toasted almonds adding complexity to a long, lush finish."
