Introducing the Baby Billecart... This new Champagne is Billecart-Salmon but not as we know it. Few know about Billecart's second label, Charles le Bel Inspiration 1818, but this secret cuvée is well-armed with notes of zesty lemon pith, melon, almond and subtle toast.
This is a lovely Champagne vinted from a blend of chardonnay, pinot meunier and pinot noir. The pinot's contribute to the lovely structure and balance, whilst the chardonnay component brings a refreshing finish with notes of citrus fruits coming through as well. A fantastic aperitif that sings with all the usual Billecart quality.

Champagne Charles Le Bel 1818 Brut NV is a blend of 37% chardonnay, 30% pinot meunier and 33% pinot noir. 7% is reserve wine.
David Walker Bell, Wine Folio writes "A Champagne from the Billecart-Salmon house – a blend of 37% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier, using 70% Reserve wine. A very fine mousse of tiny bubbles and a pale golden colour in the glass. Perfumed with pear, white peach, plum, citrus, nougat and fresh bread dough – a classic Champagne aroma. Light bodied with fresh, zesty acidity and a peppery mineral streak through the middle. Dry, with a refreshing energy and vitality that makes it a great aperitif but also takes you through to the dinner table."
