FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit - "Excellent structure and length"
Catena Zapata is now one of Argentina's most prestigious estates, producing wines with excellent character. On the palate, flavours of dark berry fruits such as raspberry and currant meld beautifully with hints of sweet spice and soft tannins. Rich and full, this would pair beautifully with BBQ meats. Yum.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Bold and brooding, the richly expressed bouquet shows dark berry, cured meat, clove and roasted hazelnut aromas, leading to a weighty palate that's plump and silky. Tannins are fine and grainy, offering excellent structure and length."
The winery writes "The Alamos Malbec has a dark purple colour with violet highlights. The nose offers bright black berry aromas with light floral notes and a touch of toast. The mouth-feel is full and rich, with ripe, concentrated cassis and black raspberry fruit interwoven with a touch of chocolate and sweet spice from light oak aging. The finish shows ripe, silky tannins."
