93/100 'Excellent' | Cameron Douglas MS
The much loved Black Barn Estate Release Chardonnay has been further developed by winemaker Dave McKee and now has some subtle oak influence to support the creamy palate weight that this wine has always been known for. Some nice flinty aromatics add a modern touch and further complexity - but this chardonnay retains the easy charm on which its popularity has long been based. A real winner.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Very bright, youthful and appealing boquuet filled with scents of grapefruit and white flowers, a distinctive crumbled stone, clay and flinty complexity. Dry, taut, salovating and very new as the wine touches the palate. Flavours of citrus and white fleshed stone fruits are accentuated by the acid line and natural richness. Delicious, fresh, aperitif in style with a lees and little to no oak influences other than complexity."
