A very compelling release full of fragrant and floral aromas on the nose with immense complexity and depth on the palate. Subtle flavours of spice and herbs are nicely supported by a framework of fresh red berries. A wine that the Ata Rangi winemaking team should be very proud of. Excellent.

The winery writes "Very floral perfume of violets, rose petal, sweet raspberry and spice. Bold and juicy entry to the palate, with primary fruit combining with herbal and iron notes. There is a brooding, savoury note to the glossy and vibrant palate, tannins are bouncy and plush."
Bob Campbell MW writes "Quite a fragrant and floral aroma with more plum, dark cherry, wood smoke, liquorice and nutty oak evident on the palate. Seamless, silken texture that is appealing now but promises to get even better with bottle age."
James Suckling writes "A lovely nose of sliced strawberry, grated nutmeg, suede and rose. Medium to full bodied with silky, fine tannins. Nuanced and concentrated with an array of subtle spice and herbs decorating the beautifully fresh red berries. Savoury undertones provide depth and complexity on the palate and evolve and oscilate as time goes on."
