After a distinguished career as Head Winemaker at Church Road, Tony and Kaye established de la terre to pursue a more hands-on approach to winemaking. They focus on creating small parcels of unique, elegant wines and grow a number of interesting varietals that are seldom seen in NZ. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTheir 2025 Mk 1 Chardonnay is hand-picked and fermented in a combination of barrels and tanks, creating a wine of real richness and vibrancy. Layers of ripe stonefruit and citrus are complemented by a distinctive seam of toasty French oak, adding complexity and texture.
